If you are cross-shopping the two, the differences that matter are not the ones the names hint at.

A "Pointe" and a "Reserve" in the same city, with the same gated-and-lake profile, read as interchangeable until you are standing at one gate or the other. They are not phases of the same development and do not share an HOA, so treat them as two separate decisions rather than one community with two entrances.

The HOA dues and exactly what they cover, whether a community development district assessment applies on top of the HOA due, and the current rental rules in writing if leasing the home is any part of your plan. None of that is the same from one gated Estero community to the next, and it does not answer itself from a listing description. Confirming it belongs in the diligence step of the buying process, before you are under contract rather than after, and it is exactly where the real difference between Rookery Pointe and Reserve at Estero is likely to show up.
