What Is West Bay Club?
A gated club community west of US-41 in Estero, at 4606 West Bay Boulevard, running along the Estero River and Estero Bay. Nearly 870 acres, and about 500 of them are nature preserve and wetlands, which is why the place reads as a leafy sanctuary rather than a subdivision.
It is one of two Estero communities where the water is something other than a lake, and the only one whose private beach club sits on the Gulf itself. Coconut Point Mall is close, and the airport is an easy run.

What Does the Water Actually Give You?
Three different waters, which almost nobody explains clearly: the bay, the river, and the Gulf beach, each doing a different job.
The beach club is on Little Hickory Island, on the Gulf of Mexico, rebuilt and expanded in March 2024 with full-service dining and beach attendants. That is a real Gulf beach belonging to the community, not a lakeside sand corner, and it is the single biggest thing separating West Bay Club from every inland Estero community.
The River Park sits on the Estero River with a private boat launch for your boat, a separate launch area for kayaks and canoes, and on-premises boat storage based on availability. The river runs to Estero Bay and the Gulf, which makes West Bay Club one of only two Estero communities with genuine Gulf access by boat, alongside Pelican Sound, whose member storage and dedicated ramp is a different arrangement on the same river. The bay frontage itself carries no docks and stays view only, which is exactly why it stays beautiful.
What Is The Island at West Bay Club?
The Island at West Bay Club (the developer markets it as "Island West Bay") is a newer luxury condominium tower rising within the community, still under construction and targeting delivery in mid-2027. It is an intimate collection of 86 corner residences with dual-exposure floor plans, on the Estero Bay shoreline.
Its own outlook carries both sides of the property at once: Estero Bay on one exposure and the lakes and preserve running through the rest of West Bay Club on the other. As a residence inside the gates, it carries the same access every West Bay Club owner has to the Pete and P.B. Dye golf course, the private Gulf beach club on Little Hickory Island, and River Park's boat launch on the Estero River, which is what makes this an entirely different product from a standalone condo tower with no club behind it.
It matters because West Bay Club is not a single product. A tower and the existing homes inside the same gates are different purchases with different association structures, different maintenance responsibilities and a different relationship to the club.
New construction inside a long-standing community also runs on its own timeline. If the tower is what interests you, the questions are about delivery, what is contracted and what is projected, and what the association arrangement looks like once it is complete. What About the Golf and the Club?
The course is an 18-hole championship design by Pete and P.B. Dye, backed by the West Bay Golf Academy, which puts West Bay Club in the small group of Estero communities where a course is part of the community rather than something you drive to.
Around it runs a full club life: the Bay House with resort-style pools and a fitness center, lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, an active pickleball program, and dining that runs from the Niblick Grille and Signature Bar to fine dining at the Golf House.
As with any full club community, the club structure is part of the purchase. Establish whether membership is mandatory with ownership, whether it transfers with the property and on what terms, what tiers exist, and what it costs annually on top of association dues. In communities of this kind those answers move the real cost of ownership more than most buyers expect.
How Does It Compare With the Rest of Estero?
Estero sorts on water first, then golf, and West Bay Club sits at the top of both lists without being the same as the community beside it.
Pelican Sound is the river community with genuine Gulf access by boat and organized member boat facilities. West Bay Club is the bay community with a private beach club. Grandezza is the golf and country club community without either kind of water. Corkscrew Shores, Verdana Village, Kingston, RiverCreek and Corkscrew Estates are lake communities without courses, generally newer, and a different purchase again.
