What Is Cedar Hammock?
A gated golf community in East Naples built around an 18-hole course at 6,676 yards, designed by Gordon G. Lewis and Jed Azinger.
Its distinguishing feature is not the course, though. It is what the rest of the land is doing.

Why Does the Preserve Land Matter?
More than half the development is given over to preserves, lakes and wetlands.
That is a genuinely high proportion and it shows in what an address looks out at. In a community where most of the land is not built on, far more homes back onto something green or wet rather than onto another roofline, and the whole place feels less dense than its home count suggests.
It is worth confirming what a particular lot actually faces, because preserve frontage and preserve nearby are different things and both get described the same way in listings.
How Does the Golf Work?
Bundled. A membership comes with the property, which means no cap, no waiting list and no application, and also no way to decline the cost.
Same arrangement as Heritage Bay, and the opposite of Quail West, where membership is capped at 525, and of Imperial Golf Estates, where it is optional. Across Naples this one attribute varies more than almost anything else, and it changes the monthly number more than the house does.

What Kind of Water Is It?
Lakes, and a lot of them, as part of that preserve and wetland share. Inland East Naples, so no Gulf access and no dockage.

How I Would Approach It With You
By checking the view and the golf cost, in that order, because those are the two things this community is actually sold on.
What I would establish with you: exactly what the lot faces and whether that preserve is protected in perpetuity or simply undeveloped for now, the full annual cost of the bundled membership, the association dues on top, and what assessments have looked like. East Naples also sits further from the coast than most of the communities on this site, so drive times to the beach and to town are worth measuring rather than assuming.
